We do measure the cracks and take in account for the size of them as well. I know others do it by the day, plus material.
I usually will get about a 30 x 30 area, measure the cracks within that area and then multiply by my square yardage. It helps me get a general idea of how cracked up the lot is.
For me it depends on the job. If it’s a smaller parking lot with minimal cracks I will measure all the cracks, if it’s a big job or a job with lots of cracks I will measure the cracks in a certain area and then times that by the total square foot. I too am interested in what others do when estimating cracks.
